Our story
Sri Muthukumaran Educational trust started Sri Muthukumaran Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Chikkarayapuram, near Mangadu, Chennai – 600069, in the academic year 2010–2011, with an annual intake of 150 students for the MBBS course. The institution was established with the approval of the National Medical Commission (formerly Medical Council of India), the Central Government, and is affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. This institute falls under the category of Telugu Minority Institution.
Today, the hospital and medical college at Chikkarayapuram are recognized as outstanding institutions and have earned the appreciation of medical experts and administrators from both the State and Central Governments. The college building comprises a ground floor plus six upper floors, with a built-up area of 21,631 sq. meters.
The total built-up area of the hospital is 40,118 sq. metres, while the library occupies a built-up area of 9,253 sq. metres. The institution comprises of total built up area of around 105883 sq. m.
All Pre-clinical and Para-clinical departments are housed within the college building. These departments are staffed by experienced and dedicated faculty members, fully complying with the standards prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The faculty of our institution is our greatest strength. They are experts in their respective fields and are at the forefront of transferring their rich knowledge and experience to the student community, helping to mould them into highly competent professionals in the field of medicine.

about The Trust
Sri Muthukumaran Educational Trust was formed in the year 1983 as a Public Charitable and Educational Trust under the able guidance of founder trustees Smt. R. Gomathi Radhakrishnan, Thiru. A.N. Radhakrishnan and Tmt. D. Meenakshi Ammal.
The colleges under Sri Muthukumaran Educational Trust have a well-structured administration system with the Management and Directors providing the necessary guidance for day to day running of the colleges.
