Psychiatry
The Department of Psychiatry is dedicated to the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of individuals suffering from mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. With a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers, and psychiatric nurses, the department aims to provide holistic, patient-centered mental health care across all age groups. Our department offers both outpatient and inpatient psychiatric services, emergency psychiatric interventions, and liaison psychiatry for medical and surgical units.
Facilities and Services:
- General Psychiatry OPD & IPD: Comprehensive assessment and management of common and severe mental disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and personality disorders.
- Psychological Assessment & Psychotherapy: Conducted by trained clinical psychologists for diagnostic clarification, personality profiling, and various therapeutic interventions.
- Pharmacotherapy: ailored medication management for psychiatric conditions with regular follow-up.
- Emergency Psychiatry: 24x7 services for acute psychiatric emergencies such as suicidal behavior, aggression, substance withdrawal, and delirium
- Community Mental Health Services: Outreach programs and mental health awareness camps for rural and underserved populations.
Specialty Clinics:
1. Monday - Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic
Focuses on the mental health needs of the elderly population, addressing conditions
such as dementia, depression, late-onset psychosis – delusion and age-related
cognitive decline.
2. Tuesday - Neurosis and Anxiety Disorders Clinic
Specializes in the management of neurotic disorders like generalized anxiety disorder,
obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, phobias, and stress-related conditions.
3. Wednesday - De-Addiction Clinic
Offers a comprehensive program for individuals dealing with substance use disorders (alcohol, tobacco, opioids, etc.), including detoxification, rehabilitation, relapse prevention, and family counseling
4. Thursday - Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic
Deals with behavioral, developmental, emotional, and academic problems in children
and adolescents such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and
mood disorders.
5. Friday - Sexual Health Clinic
Provides confidential evaluation and treatment for sexual dysfunctions, gender identity issues, relationship concerns, and psychosexual disorders.

3.Clinical posting – History taking, mental status examination and Higher mental function, psychotherapy and pharmacological treatment about various Psychiatric disorders
