The ENT (Oto-rhinolaryngology and Head & Neck & Skull base Surgery) Department specializes in diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions affecting the ear, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck and skull base. The department provides comprehensive care using advanced diagnostic tools, surgical expertise, and personalized medical treatment

About The Department

The department of Oto-rhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) having largest out- patient attendance with modern and updated diagnostic facilities. The department has operation theatres 5 days a week for elective cases and 7 days a week for emergency procedures with state of the art ENT operative equipments.

The department has very well qualified and experienced faculty members who are well versed with day to day clinical practice, teaching programmes and research programmes. Faculty members too, continuously update their knowledge by participating in regional and national conferences in Otorhinolaryngology.

The ENT department being a post-graduate institute affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University having a vision for teaching and research purpose.

Under-graduate students are very well trained for practicing ENT cases in their future career, with full confidence.

DETAILS OF THE CURRICULUM FOR UG

The curriculum for UG is followed as per NMC norms and includes theory classes, seminar/small group discussion, self directed learning, clinicals and skills lab teaching, and AETCOM. The students undergo periodic formative assessments and summative assessments.

DETAILS OF THE PG PROGRAM

The Department offers comprehensive postgraduate training in ENT, leading to the Master of Surgery (MS) degree in ENT. The department has an annual intake of 2 postgraduate students, selected based on National Eligibility and Entrance Examinations. The duration of the course is three years, during which students are subjected to seminar, journal club, case discussion, hands-on surgical training, thesis and active participation in research activities.
