Our story
The Trust started Sri Muthukumaran Medical college Hospital and Research Institute, Chikkarayapuram, Near Mangadu, Chennai-600 069 from the academic year 2010-2011 with an annual intake of 150 students in MBBS Course with the approval of Medical Council of India and Central Government and affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, this institute will fall under the category of Telugu Minority Institution.
Today the hospital and the Medical College at Chikkarayapuram are recognized as outstanding institutions and have won the appreciation of medical experts and administrators alike from the State and the Central Governments.
The College building consists of ground + 6 Floors with a built up area of 15600 sq.mts. All the Pre-clinical and Para clinical departments are accommodated in the College building. All the Departments are manned by experienced and dedicated faculty members fully confirming to the standards prescribed by the Medical Council of India.
The faculty of our institution is our greatest strength. Our faculties are experts in their own field and are on the forefront in transferring their rich knowledge and experience to the student community and mould them to become highly competent in the field of medicine.
“Quality in Education” is our motto and no effort will be spared to achieve this aim. We also ensure that our Students go beyond their class room for an all-around personality development. We strive for excellence in the field of Medicine through a dedicated participatory work culture and are determined to be one of the best Medical colleges in the country.

about The Trust
Sri Muthukumaran Educational Trust was formed in the year 1983 as a Public Charitable and Educational Trust under the able guidance of its trustees Smt. R.Gomathi Radhakrishnan, Thiru. A.N. Radhakrishnan and Tmt. D. Meenakshi Ammal.
The colleges under Sri Muthukumaran Educational Trust have a well-structured administration system with the Management and Directors providing the necessary guidance for day to day running of the colleges.
Our Trustees
Mr. A.N. Radhakrishnan, M.A., D.Com., is the Managing Trustee. He is the backbone of the Trust. Mr. Radhakrishnan has with him rich teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer in Commerce for over three decades in State Institute of Commerce Education (SICE), which is under the control of Dept. of Technical Education, Govt. of Tamilnadu. His rich experience in teaching is mainly instrumental in starting Educational Institutions in the fields of Engineering, Medical and other Para Medical courses.
From his young age there was an urge in him to provide services to the mankind in whatever way that was possible within his capacity. Later this has resulted in developing enormous ambition to provide education and healthcare to the weaker section of people in rural areas.
This has prompted him to voluntarily retire from government service. To translate his dreams into reality, he established a Polytechnic called ‘Seven Hills Polytechnic’ at Alappakkam, near Chennai in the year 1984 under this trust. He is a God-fearing, soft-natured, simple and unassuming personality with the rare quality of respecting the views of others. On satisfying the overwhelming support and enjoyment of the services by the poor, he started further extending the services in the field of education and health. Prior to the formation of this trust, he was instrumental in forming another trust called ‘Meenakshi Ammal Trust’, in which he is the Chairman with the same aims and objectives.
Tmt. Gomathy Radhakrishnan, is the Chairperson of Sri Muthukumaran Educational Trust has rich experience in the field of Education. She was the proprietress of 3 Commerce Institutes, viz., Sivasakthi, Babuji and Sakthi Institute of Commerce and has won many state awards. She continues to be associated with all Educational activities and is offering her valuable guidance.
Mrs. Meenakshi Ammal is an Educationist with 30 years of teaching experience to her credit. This apart, she is an able administrator, capable of handling all types of Educational Activities. The growth of the Trust in the field of Education is predominantly due to her untiring efforts with total dedication and devotion.
